Why Walking in Your Purpose Attracts Attacks

For some of you, this is the year of elevation into your purpose. Your goals are driving you directly into your destiny. Your vision is growing in value. Elevation entails repositioning and reassignment to a higher position. When you are being elevated, attacks are inevitable. It is hard to fight off enemies hiding in the trenches below you when you are rising up in clear sight. The higher the elevation, the more people attached to your destiny, the more devastating the attacks. For the attacks are not designed for where you are now, they are designed to stop you from where you are going and who you will take with you.

Those enemies and their attacks may look like frustration, procrastination, criticism, anxiety, stress, lack of clarity, or just plain fear. This too is part of your elevation. You are moving out of your comfort zone. You want to react out of emotions at these attacks. You want to attack back. But that is the exact reaction the enemy wants from you. If the enemy can shift your focus on things you lack, other people’s opinion, self doubt, and push you into an emotional fight, it will distract and delay you from your purpose and your destiny. The enemy knows your breakthrough is right around the corner. He knows how many people you will impact when you move into your purpose. He hopes by making you respond to these difficulties and challenges, instead of moving forward in your destiny, he can make you miss your opportunities.

Let me declare right now: You have come too far, worked too hard, struggled too long, hurt too deeply to give up now. I am not telling you to avoid the fight. I am telling you to FIGHT LIKE YOUR PURPOSE IS ON THE LINE, because it is.

And your purpose is not just about you, your purpose is not just for you. You know what you are supposed to be doing, but you need to be strategic with your fight. Everything that you need is already inside of you. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Recognize every false thing standing in the way of your purpose. Recognize that fear is just F.alse E.vidence A.ppearing R.eal!

  1. Put your game face on, and make strategic decisions that move you forward.
  2. Get the emotions out of the fight. Decide what battles are worth engaging in, and what battles are not yours to fight.
  3. Remind yourself of your purpose, your destiny, your why and strategically focus your resources and energy on those things that will help facilitate your goals becoming a reality.
  4. Hard times, obstacles, attacks and challenges are a part of the journey. Don’t avoid the lessons they bring because they don’t feel good. This is your training ground. This is preparation for everything coming your way.
  5. You are built for this. You are equipped for this. You are deserving of this.
  6. A poem, by Marianne Williamson is my favorite affirmation to recite as I am trying to move out of my comfort zone. I will share it with you. You too need to get a favorite scripture, prayer, song, poem or affirmation to use during this battle.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?
